Get Featured in The Telegraph (t2)

The Telegraph is Kolkata's English daily, published by the ABP Group since 7 July 1982, with t2 as its entertainment and lifestyle brand. Indian PR Distribution (IPRD)® is based in Salt Lake Sector V and works with Calcutta desks every week, so we know which story belongs on the city pages, which in t2 and which in business.

Editorial coverage is decided independently by The Telegraph and its journalists.

  • Businesses investing, hiring or expanding in Bengal
  • Events with people and pictures the city will want to see

How we work

From your news to the right Telegraph desk.

  1. 01

    Assess

We decide whether the story is city news, business or t2, and whether it needs an event, a tasting or a preview to be covered well.

  2. 02

    Angle

We write for the city's English readers, and prepare Bengali versions for Anandabazar and Ei Samay when the story should reach them too.

  3. 03

    Prepare and pitch

We take the story to the right desks in Kolkata, through our media relations work, and run press meets or media invitations when the story calls for people in the room.

  4. 04

    Report

You see outreach and verified coverage, with editorial, distribution and paid results reported separately. A Kolkata entrepreneur, the first Indian to finish a marathon at the Geographic North Pole, was covered in 18 publications in English, Hindi and Bengali.

Before you pitch

A city-ready story answers eight questions.

  • What happened?
  • Why does Calcutta care?
  • Why now?
  • What can a photographer shoot?
  • What evidence supports it?
  • What is new or different?
  • Who can speak to it?
  • What city conversation does it fit?
  • Company background and spokesperson profile
  • Dates, venue and figures, verified
  • Authorised quotes and high-resolution images
  • Preview, tasting or event access for the desk

What we do not promise

Clear about what The Telegraph decides.

  • Guaranteed editorial publication
  • A guaranteed reporter or photographer at your event
  • Guaranteed positive coverage
  • Paid content presented as editorial

FAQ

The Telegraph PR questions

How can I get featured in The Telegraph?

Bring a story with a real Calcutta angle and take it to the desk that covers it: city, business or t2. We work with the city's newsrooms directly.

Is Telegraph coverage paid or editorial?

Editorial coverage is decided by The Telegraph's journalists and cannot be bought. Paid formats such as advertising or advertorials, where offered, are commercial and labelled as such. We advise which route fits your objective.

What is t2?

t2 is The Telegraph's entertainment and lifestyle brand, covering film, music, food, fashion, events and the good life in Calcutta, in the paper and online at t2online.in.

How do I get my restaurant or hotel launch into t2?

Give the desk something to experience: a preview, a tasting, a chef or a designer worth meeting, and pictures worth printing. We plan media invitations in Kolkata around what the desk needs.

Does The Telegraph cover North Bengal and South Bengal?

Yes. Besides Calcutta, The Telegraph publishes South Bengal and North Bengal editions. A development in Siliguri or Durgapur, for instance, may suit a regional edition better than the city pages.

Should I target The Telegraph, Anandabazar or Ei Samay?

They reach different readers. The Telegraph is the city's English daily; Anandabazar and Ei Samay are Bengali dailies. Many Bengal stories suit all three, each with its own angle and language.
